Cap Installation

1. Mark the center of the free-standing blocks to monitor the correct bond beam spacing.
2. Place a minimum of two beads of construction adhesive on top of the free-standing block before setting the cap block. Use an adhesive that meets the requirements of ASTM D3498 and C557 and HUD/FHA Use of Materials Bulletin #60. An example is Titebond Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive by Franklin International (1-800-347-4583) or PL Premium Construction Adhesive (www.stickwithpl.com). Mortar cement may also be used if desired.
3. Three sided caps shall be used on the end of walls. Two sided caps shall be used in the middle of walls. Caps may be saw cut as needed for proper alignment.
4. Joints between caps can be grouted after installation for a more finished look.
